DEALING WITH SIN & HAVING LOVE FOR CHRIST by: Amanda Beamer
Matthew 5:1-8 King James Version (KJV)
1 And seeing the multitudes, he (Jesus) went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Only you know truly if you abide in Christ or not, but Christ searches the heart. We don’t come unto Christ perfect, because HE is the one that perfects us =
= if we let HIM!
If you have come unto HIM with a pure heart and are striving through HIM to turn away from sin = HE sees that & counts it as a treasure unto HIM.
Do you know why HE counts it as a treasure? =
= It’s because it shows your love to HIM.
I don’t know if any of you are familiar with or have a Godly marriage or not = but picture a holy marriage.
The husband does things for the wife out of love.
The wife does things for the husband out of love.
The longer the relationship grows, the stronger the love grows. Either spouse would die for one another if NEED BE.
Just as with marriage, the stronger the relationship in Christ becomes, the less sin there will be.
God WILL use a believer that sins if they are repenting with a pure heart. Each person is different & HE knows this. What one individual struggles with & finally overcomes = God will use that individual to minister to others that has had that same struggle, to also overcome.
This is why fellowship with the body of Christ is so important = to help each other & hold one another accountable & not be led astray.
This is what I want everyone to do =
= reflect & pray on any sin you are struggling with.
Are you being pure in heart & fully submitting unto Christ? =
= if so, then continue to abide in Christ & continue repenting over it. Have FAITH (FULL BELIEF THAT CAUSES YOU TO OBEY CHRIST) & He will help you overcome it.
=If you do not have a pure heart about that sin, then repent to Christ about not fully submitting unto Him & then continue repenting & perform as I stated above.
God WILL use believers that sin = BUT IT ALL DEPENDS on if they are truly being repentant or not & what form of sin it is.
Just in an actual marriage, reverence (or love) Christ as you would (& more than) your spouse.
Ephesians 5:1-2 King James Version (KJV)
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
There are different ways to fear God:
one is to fear His wrath for doing wrong
the other is to fear HURTING HIM for doing wrong (because out of love).
Ask yourself this =
= are you fearful for wrath or are you fearful because you love Christ?
If you are fearful for wrath, then LOVE & praise HIM.
If you already abide in Christ, then don’t be fearful for wrath = but be fearful for HURTING HIM.
The only reason mankind has feelings is because God had them first.
Every time we sin – it is another pounding on the nails of Jesus on the Cross. It is another disappointment given to our BELOVED.
Out of love for Christ, I fear of disappointing him when sin occurs, because I KNOW IT HURTS HIM. It grieves ME when I HURT HIM.
That is the beauty of conviction – it shows a developing relationship.
I pray that this has helped someone out there & God bless.
